Happy 29 mths to baby Si and happy 7mths to baby Skye!!!

Happy 29 mths to baby Si and happy 7mths to baby Skye!!!

(previous month's post <~ if u missed it)

Here's our monthly family tradition of taking Polaroid pics.
Hopefully baby Si n baby skye pics will cheer up ur day!!!
It did cheer us up when snapping these pics... :)

Milestones reached:
. Baby Skye nom-ing on his feet
. Increased baby Skye feed from once a day to twice a day! (Big appetite boy!)
. Baby Skye first fall from the bed.
(Ouch! Due to him rolling everywhere on the bed...every morning, daddy will barricade his side of the bed with pillows once he gets up... But one morning, Me n baby Si were woken up with a 'bang' on the wood and then followed by cries a few secs later! Thankfully nothing happened to him...I was amazed at how "sayang" baby Si was towards baby Skye...she kept saying "is di-di (lil bro) okay? No blood? Put pillow here n there so skyler won't fall again, she kept rubbing his head" -thankfully our bed is short distance from the floor and the floor is padded with foam mat)
. Baby Skye attempting to crawl. (Pushing wt his legs)
. Baby Skye grabbing EVERYTHING within reach.
. Baby Skye responding to our "baby talk" and baby Si's antics by giggling and laughing back at us.
(Dont remember ever doing "baby talk" with Sienna- think we tried but i guess she skipped this stage!)

Note: Daddy has been taking Sienna out on daddy&daughter dates more frequent nowadays!!!
Yeayyyy.... That means more mummy&son dates with baby Skye... :)

Push present...chair :)

For all the preggie women out there, in case you don't know what is a "PUSH present",
here's a recap! Meaning of PUSH present & My 1st push present...

VERY IMPORTANT for all preggie women to know!!!

Since I had been religiously breastfeeding baby Si for a total of 16 months,
And probably longer for baby Skye, I told myself and mr. Hubby that I needed a
"push present" that would be comfortable for me since I would be spending most
my time on it bonding with my son aka (.)(.)feeding :)
"SAY NO MORE to backaches!!!"
Thus, a few weeks before my delivery to baby Skye, mr. Hubby bought me the
"creme de la creme" of all couches!!!
But unfortunately I could only put it to good use 2 months later as I delivered in
Malaysia and did my confinement there too...

Mr. Hubby "claimed" he did not "devirginised my NEW couch and "claimed" he only
used the other old 2-seater couch :p *righhhhtttttt*
So here's presenting My new state of the art, comfy couch!!!
best of all it has a pull out leg rest !!!
Made me feel like I'm in a VIP movie theater :)

This will probably be my last push present received from mr. Hubby as we have
self declared "closed shop"!!! So a piece of advice to all the preggie women out there,
think VERY VERY hard on what you wanna get as you might only have a few chances,
unless you want kids as many as a football team ;)

Update- its been 5 mths of using my push present, and still loving it :)

How I use it:
I would (.)(.)feed skyler 24/7...
I would watch TV (when I get the chance to)...
I would have my "ME" time every night drinking my coffee n midnight supper...
I would blog (just as we speak)...
I would use my ipad...
Etc...u get the gist...
Note: Sienna is enjoying it too!!!

I do everything on it... If only it can be fully reclined, I would be sleeping there too!!!
***DREAM ON***
Perhaps a fully reclinable chair with a build-in-massage for my next push present???

Family photoshoot...

Not really in the mood to dress up, make up, etc...
Plus getting 2 kiddos up and early in the morning, ready n well fed is quite a feat!
Worst part is, it rained that morning! So we were unsure if the shoot was still on... Thus making this mummy a bit hesistent to get ready...
(Btw, we had to cancel our earlier appointment as it poured heavily!!!)

Thankfully all cleared up and weather turned out lovely! (Although the grounds were wet)
And kiddos were well fed, happy n good to go!!! They corporated surprisingly well during the 90 mins photoshoot!!! Mummy was already ready to give up towards the end :p

Our shoot took place at Singapore Botanic Gardens! surprisingly the photos turned out nice!
Mr. Hubby made the right choice to delay taking our family photoshoot as he wanted baby Skye to be able to lift his head up :) *smiles*
But I didn't wanna wait too long coz we took baby Si newborn pics when she was only 26 days old!
And baby Skye won't stay a newborn for too long...

So baby Skye at 5 mths vs. baby Si at 26 days old :)
See links below for our photoshoot pics...
I'm glad we did it! It's a once in a lifetime thingy... Plus, we don't want baby Skye to feel left out (not having a newborn photoshoot) and being labelled as 2nd kid syndrome where the parents go ALL WAY OUT for baby no1 but nothing for baby no2 what more baby no3!!! Hahahha....

Baby Skye at 5 months...

Tips for mummies (for outdoor photoshoot)
. Make sure kiddos and mr. Hubby are well fed, well slept & well poop-ed!
. Schedule the photoshoot the appropriate length..ours was for 90 mins! Just nice (not too long n not too short) if no interruptions (diaper change, feeding, etc)
. Schedule the photoshoot the appropriate timing, when the sun is not too hot and when the kids are the most alert and active!
. Bring lots of props to keep kiddos entertain (bubbles, their fav. Soft toys, mat, etc)
. Bring lots of WATER to stay hydrated :) sunscreen and umbrella if needed...
. Bring lots of snacks to keep kiddos happy (Sienna didn't end up needing it as she was too excited)
. Bring a stroller if ur kiddos can't walk too far! Sienna was up and running!!!
. Make sure ur photographer works well with kids... Ours even though he's young, he was very helpful in other things like pushing our stroller, lending a hand when our hands were full, overall must be patient as he needed to get a few good shots!
. If you plan to take newborn pics, its better to have ur photoshoot at home!
Just like when we did for baby Si at 26 days old...(plus, this mummy was still under confinement)

Happy 28 mths to baby Si and happy 6 mths to baby Skye!!!

Happy 28 mths to baby Si and happy 6 mths to baby Skye!!!

Sorry late post...
(previous month's post <~ if u missed it)

Here's our monthly family tradition of taking Polaroid pics.
Hopefully baby Si n baby skye pics will cheer up ur day!!!
It did cheer us up when snapping these pics... :)

Milestones reached:
. Baby Skye first solid food
. Baby Skye rolling from one end of the bed to the other...
. Baby Skye discovering his feets and playing wt it...

. Caught Baby Si digging her first booger!!! And she enjoyed it and kept laughing...
She looked surprised too as soon as I asked her what she was doing...
. Baby Si has SELF WEANed herself from her well beloved PACIFIER!!! (Will blog about it next time when she gets thru this challenging and difficult time for both mummy and her)

Note in pic: baby Si lugs around her fav. Bear Bear (alternates with Elmo) everywhere she goes even to sleep... Just started recently! And pretends to role play with them...
*someone must be getting lonely as all the attention is on baby Skye!*
Btw, She likes to mimics people...
So when I (.)(.) feed baby Skye, she (.)(.) feeds Elmo/bear bear too...
When I carry baby Skye, she carries Elmo/bear bear like a baby too!
When I put baby Skye to sleep, she does too! (Including singing twinkle twinkle little star)
When I put diapers on baby Skye, she does too!
And just today, when I fed baby Skye his first solid food, she did too!
Etc... U get the gist :)
Monkey see, monkey do!!!

Baby Skye first solid food...

Baby Skye first solid food...

Preparing baby Skye to start on solid food:

Here's a recap on baby Si's experience on her first solid food! --> click here!
Baby Si started a few weeks late...(as we were in Msia)

But this time round, this mummy had no "excuse" to delay...
hence, i was on time!!! 31st July marks the day baby Skye turned 6mths...he had his first taste of solid food :)

Now I have 3 "babies" mouth to feed...hehehehehe
Much more work :(
Currently almost every evening, I will bring the kiddos to the playground downstairs... I will feed sienna her dinner there while she gets to socialize and let out all her steam or else this "energizer bunny" will still be going on hyper mode at night!
Btw, she eats more and I can get away with feeding her vegetables as she's gets excited and distracted with playing n running around...
Good tip for fussy and slow eaters!!!
We have a rule that she gets a bite then runs off, and comes back to me for the next bite... If not, I will take baby Skye and pretend to leave the playground without her....telling her its bye bye time....hehehe...works like a charm!!!
***told myself long ago (when I saw maids/mummies chasing after their kids to feed them), I can't be seen running around after my child with a feeding spoon...plus, I have baby Skye to keep an eye too!!!***
Another tip: I alternate her bites with her favorite dates (aka BIG raisins) to entice her to eat more and come back to me...hehehehehe...

And now, I need to feed baby Skye at the same time!!! *sweats*
I can just see other mummies / maids at the playground giving me *stares*

Ok back to baby Skye's big milestone...
Daddy was also able to witness baby Skye's first experience just as with baby Si...
Jie jie sienna was also there to witness di di skyler eating too!
She was so intrigued that she wanted to have a taste too! *Yucks!*
After patiently waiting for me to finish feeding baby Skye, she took my spoon and container and proceeded to pretend feed her fav. BearBear!!!
*monkey see, monkey do"

Is baby Skye ready for solids?

. your little one is holding her head up well <- yes
. has outgrown his tongue-thrust reflex < yes, on day 2!!!
. seems interested in what's on your plate <- yes, eyeing on everything that we ate and salivates a lot!!!

THE RESULT?

Let the pics speak for themselves ;)
Things to Note:
1) same high chair
2) same spoon
3) same food container
4) same sippy cup
5) same bib
6) different solid food
7) different BABY!!!

Can't believe baby Skye has tuned 6mths!!!
***bittersweet moment*** I'm starting to miss him being a newborn!!!
btw, I never really experienced the baby smell with sienna before, but with skyler, he sure has IT!!! Maybe it's a mother-son thingy which is unexplainable??? Hmmmm....how i wish i can keep his "smelly" smell in a bottle :)

UPDATES:
It took baby Si at least a few days to fully master the technique of swallowing, accepting the taste, and getting the hang of it..
But baby Skye ate like a pro on the 2nd day :)
Just within a week, I upped his portion from 1 to 2 and now 3 scoops!!!
(Maybe coz he's a BOY???)
