Okay by this point this mummy has lost count of how many new foods have been intro to baby Si!
Coz she's been eating lots of varieties n been eating well :)
Below are the new foods that has been introduced:
Prawn
Cabbage
Broccoli
Avocados
Bell peppers
Potato
Salmon
Green beans
Onions
Cauliflower
Lentils (Dhal)
Homemade yogurt (tairu)
Note: baby Si has been intro to her Indian genes food ;) she had her first taste of dhal and tairu!!!
How Indian can that be? VERY!!! She's more Indian than her daddy....LOL
"Once u tasted black, u won't turn back"
And u read that right...homemade yogurt!!! Made by urs truly!!! Thanks to karthik's mum (Patti) for the recipe... I've been making it ever since I learned it (which was back then when we were dating) n since then onwards I have had homemade yogurt in my fridge (minus the times when we are away)... It is very very healthy. But we eat it mainly as smoothies n occasionally hubby will eat his yogurt rice ;)
*Thanks to our dear friend Priethaa for reminding me to add lentils (dhal) to baby Si's porridge!
Finger food:
Wheat bread (small pieces)
Scrambled egg yolks
Flakes of broiled, baked, or poached fish (but screen carefully for bones)
Pasta
Oat circle cereals, wheat or rice puffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what does baby Si think of her gourmet meal???
THE RESULT?
Baby Si: yummy... Especially the pasta, puffs and flakes of fish as finger food!!!
Mummy: can't wait to try even more new foods as she will soon turn 10mths!!!
--------------------------------------------------
What new food should I intro next?
Stay tune to find out ;)

I lurve me some bath time!!!
Dear mummy & daddy,
My most fav time of the day is definitely my bath time...
I look forward to it daily...
But can I ask u guys a favor? Make it a few favors...
.Next time can u leave me in a lil bit longer
.Add more foam to my bath tub so I get to enjoy more bubbles n occasionally swallow it n give mummy a panic attack!
.Can I bring my duckies out of the bath room so that they can sleep with me...I promise I won't need my pacifier to sleep if u just let my rubber duckies in...
.Remind daddy to read me a bed time story right after he gives me a lotion massage n puts on my pajamas n diapers.
Xoxo,
Till the next bath time...
Baby Si...
P/s: Still loving u mummy n daddy but I love my bath time more for now ;)

Xmas 2012 in krabi, Thailand
This would be baby Si's 2nd time to Thailand....first was to Phuket, Thailand when she was only 3 months old!!! That's coz mummy needed a vacation to chillax!!!
This time the Chaw family chose Krabi to spend Xmas there....
Did we say me n mr. Hubby LOVE LOVE LOVE THAILAND!!!
Thailand is a CHEAP n GOOD place for holiday!!!
Massages, shopping, eating, relaxing, beach, sun, cheap hotels, sand, island,etc...
Massages for less than 8usd ONE WHOLE HOUR...Thai massage...bliss :) we both prefer Balinese Indonesian oil massage though... But who's complaining???
Island hopping in krabi is nice :) the islands are beautiful...where u can do rock climbing, snorkeling, kayaking, swim with the fishes...all in one island!!!
Even during peak season it is still relatively cheap...
Sawadekaa to all baby Si's blog fans from Thailand :)
baby Si: "thanks Po Po n Gong Gong for the quality family bonding time we had and letting mummy n daddy relax and go for massages EVERYDAY!!!"
More pics on mr. Hubby's Facebook:

My hideaway...
From my previous post, I mentioned that one of baby Si's milestone was ducking under a chair...
So here's the pics of the momentous moment caught by the paparazzi...
We even have it on video...
Baby Si was so happy to have found her hideaway until after having too much fun hiding she realized she was stuck??? But she didn't panicked... Guess who panic first? Po Po panicked as baby Si started shaking her "hideaway" n knocking her forehead into the chair...
So Po Po to the rescue... Mummy and gong gong just watched as baby Si was entertaining us throughout...
A regular chair can be turned into a fun "toy"!!! My baby loves cheapO toys... Remote control, Rubber bands, plastics, papers, tissues, etc...
Her real toys are sitting in a corner collecting dust...
But she loves her rubber duckies though ;) during bath time...her fav time of the day...

Happy birthday Po Po!!!
Wanna do a shout out to my mum aka baby Si's Po Po...
Happy 6? Birthday!!! Can't reveal her exact age...as women are quite sensitive when it comes to numbers :)
But for her age, she has graced well... I can't believe she's 60 + :)
I wished to have her genes...no wrinkles in sight!!!
Thank u for bringing all 3 of us up... I now know the sacrifices a mum makes since having baby Si... I don't know how u did it with 3 rascals like us... Hehehhe....
Baby Si has a hottie Po Po... I would say, looking back at her younger days pics... She was a hottie!!! My dad is a lucky man... I'm sure he agrees with me...
Here's Wishing my mama many many more blessed years to come...
Can't wait for baby Si to grow old with u :)

Our humble Family Xmas dinner!!!
While growing up, every year without fail my mum would prepare us turkey dinner... Not once but twice a year (sometimes 3 times!!!) Xmas, new year and post new year... But nowadays we are on "DIET"!!! *hahahhaah not!!!* Thus we have a diet looking turkey too... Mind u, this is the smallest turkey we ever had... Can be mistaken for a chicken too!!!???
My dad was camera shy that day... Also he was too eager to devour the bird, that he couldn't wait to dig in...
This year we had a simple & humble Xmas dinner... Normally it would have been a huge spread of mash potatoes, seafood (butter prawns, crab), dessert, etc...
We enjoyed our humble Xmas dinner in style... Pajamas party :)
Btw, when this pics were taken, we just came bck from krabi, Thailand-thus the tired looking faces minus my brother Jeffrey!!! (stay tune for this post-once mr. Hubby's done uploading our krabi pics from our camera)
We as a family are grateful for a fruitful 2012 n God's blessings on our family!!! A lot has happened in 2012 for us...
Appreciate what we have and our moments spend with each other!!!
Can't wait for what God has planned for us in 2013!!!
My dad said a special prayer especially for my bro Jeffrey!!! Gagagagagahahaha... Eager to know? Ask him urself ;)

Baby Si 11-16th solid food...
Now that baby Si is 8+ months, Mummy has the green light to feed baby Si with new foods (other than fruits n vegetables)!
--------------------------------------------------
11th solid food: beef + porridge (multigrain rice + all sorts of vegetables)
Her 1st meat ;)
So what does baby Si think of her gourmet meal???
THE RESULT?
Baby Si: yummy...but a lil bit watery! thus a bit messy :p
Mummy: No preference on which type of meat to start baby Si with! Actually gong gong was the one that chose beef as that was the meat in the freezer at that moment! Mind you, gong gong cooked baby Si's first porridge meal :)
--------------------------------------------------
12th solid food: fish + porridge (multigrain rice + all sorts of vegetables)
Her 2nd meat :)
--------------------------------------------------
13th solid food: chicken + porridge (multigrain rice + all sorts of vegetables)
Her 3rd meat :)
--------------------------------------------------
14th, 15th, 16th solid food: pork + egg YOLK (egg whites is a no no as it's one of the high risk allergy food) + CHEESE + porridge (multigrain rice + all sorts of vegetables)
Her 4th meat :)
So what does baby Si think of her gourmet meal???
THE RESULT?
Baby Si: gong gong porridge is getting tastier!!!
Mummy: happy as this mummy is on vacation n off from cooking ;)
Note: was looking forward to feeding baby Si cheese (as mummy n daddy r BIG fans of cheese) but baby Si didn't really like it!!! Maybe cause cheese (western) doesn't go with porridge (Asian)... Will try some western combination next time (mash potato wt cheese perhaps?)
--------------------------------------------------
What new food should I intro next?
Stay tune to find out ;)
Note to my western readers: porridge aka congee http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congee
Is famous in this part of the world especially famous to the Chinese...babies eat it, adults eat it when u r feeling sick, toothache, fed it to mr hubby when he had braces on for the first week, occasionally when having cravings for it (when u need a break from the normal rice, noodles, bread, pratha, etc...)
U guys should try it especially during those cold winter days!!! Just add in all sorts of meat n vegs! One wholesome meal in a pot ;) easy peasy meal...mind u, u can eat it for days...
Note: I'm amazed to find out that the word congee originated from Tamil!!! But funnily, mr.Hubby tasted his first porridge from his wifey... Maybe Indians prepare it differently? I'm up to try it!!! Who can cook Indian porridge???
