Kids, are you ready??? Kidzania has landed in Singapore!!!

For the whole of 2015 since Sienna had an annual pass to Port of Lost Wonder (POLW), my family has been passing by and seeing the making of "something" located directly across the street. All we could see was that there was a real life size nose head of an aeroplane jutting out of the building's main entrance ~ all covered for secrecy!!! Little did we know something cool and exciting was coming to our shores...

"Parents and kids, This is the Captain speaking... We have officially landed in Kidzania Singapore!!!"

Having grown up in an airline/aviation family, this mummy and the 2 kiddos (Sienna and Skyler) couldn't turn down the offer when we were invited to enjoy the unveiling of the huge life-size decommissioned Boeing 737 Qatar Airways plane in KidZania Singapore which measures over 25 metre long with a full wingspan of 28 metres.

Sienna (#siennaskyler) was beaming with joy when she laid eyes on the plane in the wall (yes, u heard that right!!!) n pretty stewardess... she's always been saying she wanna grow up to be a stewardess just like mommy and a pilot just like gong gong n Chiu Chiu Jason (aviation family)...well, Kidzania Singapore + Qatar Airways is THE place to be for kids to explore real life fun before taking the plunge!

We were given a sneak peak into the KidZania facility and the kids are getting excited for the official opening in April 2016!!! Sienna is already asking when can we go back and actually start playing...
We've heard nothing but good reviews from family and friends who's been to the Kidzania in other countries and how they could spend the whole day there!

My kids started travelling on planes at a very young age just like both her parents.  When I asked Sienna what she loves most about travelling, she says EVERYTHING!!! From the airport, check-in counters, airplane, hotel etc... Like mommy, like daughter!!! The smell of airport, airplanes, hotel just makes my day.

Here at KidZania, you get to do just that!!!

"Featuring a Qatar Airways branded airport terminal, complete with check-in desks and personnel dressed in Qatar Airways uniforms, the facility is also home to the Aviation Academy where kids can immerse themselves in the world of aviation and travel. Aspiring pilots at KidZania Singapore can experience flying two of Qatar Airways’ flagship aircraft – the 787 Dreamliner and the A380 superjumbo aircraft – using state-of-the-art flight simulators.
Kids can role-play as Qatar Airways’ cabin crew, learning how to ensure the safety and comfort of their passengers on-board. Parents can also join in the fun as they role-play as on-board passengers receiving five-star inflight hospitality from their little ones."

Ohhhh this momma can't wait to finally put my legs up, rest and relax while being serve by my kids!!!

"Through the Aviation Academy, not only can kids inch closer to their dreams of becoming pilots and cabin crew, they also gain a greater appreciation for the responsibilities and skills required to be part of the airline’s operating crew. "

Overall impression of KidZania...
This mummy approves!!!
Can't wait to check out KidZania once it open its doors this April...see you guys there!

Lets 'IRON" it out

Ever since becoming a mom, I have put more thought into the things that go into my mouth, and especially my 2 kids' mouths!!!

When the opportunity came for this momma to learn about the new range of Nestlé’s newly improved Cerelac Cereals, I didn't turn it down! Instead I looked forward as I never want to stop learning...to better myself as a mom... one can never stop learning, can we?

So what's so special with this new range? Not only does it have a new look, it is also the only brand in Singapore that has a new baby cereal recipe that contains soya in it. But the best part is it's packed with a load full of IRON!!!

How much more? 30% more than the previous cerelac cereals range... Which meets more than 50% of my baby's daily iron requirement (just in 1 serving!!!)

Why is it that iron is SO important especially in the first 2 years of a growing baby?

That's because their brain develops rapidly and iron is needed to ensure that the body has enough red blood cells to transport oxygen to all body parts especially the brain, to facilitate growth...Iron also supports your baby's natural  defences.

Since this momma is still fully breastfeeding my 2 year old son, I have always made sure to try to eat a well balanced meal and to take supplements to make sure my baby is getting more than enough ("kiasu" much??? Lols...) !!!
But now that he's turning 2 years old in a few days time, he's been eating mostly solid food and is getting more choosy n fussy by the day...  he used to eat EVERYTHING...especially his veggies!!! But now that his tastebuds have fully developed, it's not the case anymore... Time for this momma to IRON things out!!!

I gave baby Skye the cerelac cereal "Oats, Wheat, Prunes" to try. To be honest, I was a little apprehensive giving it as baby Skye is at the age of rejecting ALL things MUSH aka baby food!!! To my surprise, he took to the taste immediately and soon after, "jie jie" Sienna joined in the taste test too n the rest is history... both of them cleaned up the whole bowl.... they must think that it's a yummy dessert pudding... this momma is a happy momma...

IRON = checked!!!
Healthy babies = happy momma = happy family!!!

Who says baby food is dull n boring...
I have since added it to all their favourite food... yogurt, made it into overnight oats, Milo, fresh milk, smoothies, home made ice cream, etc... let ur imagination run wild... my 2 kids ate "Cray Cray" over raisins... so add raisins to it, it'll be gone in no time...

One can never get enough of IRON... the most is a little problem with doing ur big business... constipation perhaps???

So how do we know if our child is getting enough iron??? Thank God for technology... the peeps at Nestle have come up with an IRON calculator!!! It's so simple, user friendly and interactive...

1st: click on the link below
https://www.nestlebaby.com.sg/cerelac-iron-calculator/
2nd: select each tab from every food category and select their respective servings
3rd: it generates the estimated iron intake for your child.

So here's baby Skye's RESULT!!!
76% iron intake "you are good"...
He barely passed...Lols...

Nestle CERELAC IRON Calculator is a quick and convenient way for mums, and even dads, to find out exactly how much more iron your child needs or evaluate if they are already meeting the Recommended Nutrient Intake (RNI).

Have fun with it!!!

Happy 45 mths old to baby Si and happy 23 mths old to baby Skye!!!

***Sorry for the delayed post as mummy, Sienna and baby Skye are ill (still recovering) after coming back from hangzhou China n Malaysia over the holiday season!!! The only healthy one and holding the fort is daddy aka Mr. Hubby***

Nevertheless...

Happy 45 mths old to baby Si and happy 23 mths old to baby Skye!!!
(previous month's post <~ if u missed it!)

Here's our monthly family tradition of taking Polaroid pics.

In case, you might be wondering, those are stickers stucked on them... I guess the kiddos came up with their own theme for this month's Polaroid photoshoot.
This momma was thinking more of a Xmas-sy theme (I guess our small little Xmas tree didn't make an appearance this year and stayed in its box)

Usually I don't take behind the scenes photos, but they went sticker crazy n Sienna started making silly faces...so here are some of the few crazy shots taken!!!
Hopefully baby Si n baby skye pics will cheer up ur day!!!
It did cheer us up when snapping these pics... :)

Milestones reached:

Skyler~

.Missed his first nap n wasn't cranky at all... we were out the whole day to a meet and greet session with Santa Claus for Xmas at Clark quay central n when we came back baby Skye was still up n about being his active self. Usually he will be knocked out when the excitement is over and on our way home.

.Scared of the big statues, big size things (in
this case it was Santa Claus) yet again! Maybe this was the reason he missed his nap...Lols! Baby Skye was traumatized by the big dude with white hairy beard...

.Able to jump with both feet off the ground... previously he thinks he's jumping by just lifting both his hands up while imitating jie jie Sienna jumping.

.14Dec - pointed to his diaper n indicated he wanted to poo poo (with his poo poo face) n did his 1st big business in the toilet... but so far, its only a one off thing!

.first daddy-son date...at HOME!!! Hehehe.... does that consider as a date? They spent a quiet relaxing time bonding at home...while mummy - daughter had their 1st date (see "Sienna" section below)

.baby Skye attended his 1st play gym class at "The little gym Singapore" and he was instantly hooked on it... he just loved everything about it... monkeying around on the monkey bars, kicking balls, doing flips, etc!

.1st time stepping foot into the land of China (hangzhou)!!! Will blog about this soon, hopefully...

.1st time experiencing winter... it was freezing cold in hangzhou but this boy refused to wear his boots, gloves, hat, ear muffs!!! His hands were freezing but he was still acting "cool"...Demands to take off his jacket once we were indoors...indeed a HOT BLOODED boy!!!
Unfortunately he wasn't able to experience a SNOWY WHITE winter.
P/s: the one on the left didn't tag along!!! But she had lots of fun (as always) with po po n gong gong in Malaysia...

Sienna~

.1st mummy-daughter date and it couldn't have been a more appropriate one watching Cinderella the MUSICAL... we both loved it so much! And ended the day with a foot massage with my little one intensely learning about the art of massage. It was such an awesome, relaxing date just going out with my 1st born... no tantrums, no changing diapers, no feeding, no breaking up of fights, etc! U get the picture... I even commented after stepping out from the house for 5 mins..."so easy???"

. Sienna has finally gotten over her fears of big hairy people especially those with beards!!! Letting Santa Claus carry her was quite a surprised to this momma... Not kidding... or perhaps Santa Claus is an exception since he comes bearing gifts...

Skye n Si ~
.meeting Santa Claus for the 1st time!!!

.this momma had her first "me" time full day break and daddy babysat both Skye and Si from 10.30am till 6.30pm!... attended "Influence Asia event".
Correction update: 2nd time...1st time was attending the nuffnang blogger conference ...
I'm surprised Baby Skye went that long without (.)(.) and he did well!!! He nap without having to be nursed at home...Usually only when we are out and about, he's able to fall asleep without being nursed...either in his stroller or being carried!!!
Previously, i just made at most a 2-3 hours run to get a facial, hair or massage!

*There isn't any Throwback to baby Si's 23mths coz that was when baby Skye was about to be born and the blog was put on a temporary hold --> click here for my "goodbye" blog post.
