Baby Skye in magazines!!!

HALLOWEEN is just around the corner...and guess what???
Most of you would probably have known (from mr. Hubby's Facebook) <- can sense mr. Hubby's excitement.... That our baby boy Skyler Chaw Naga made a special appearance in the Mediacorp's "Mother&Baby Singapore" magazine (October issue)!!! Out on stands since late sept...

We are so proud and blessed for this once in a lifetime opportunity and experience!
Although Skyler didn't have to do anything in order to get his face in the magazine...
Just a cute smile won the hearts of the peeps at Mother&Baby Singapore ;)

He landed a tiny spot in the magazine on page 40!!! (Halloween theme)
Baby Skye did wonderful throughout the photo shoot...no fuss at all...
Daddy did a great job trying to make baby Skye look straight at the camera and smile at the same time...quite a difficult task as baby Skye was just learning to lift up his head while on his tummy!!!
So daddy didn't have much buffer time to work with...
Baby Skye was just 7 mths during the time of the photo shoot (if u notice, he didn't have much hair at that time compared to now which is naturally spiked up!!!)

This Mummy was just chilling and mingling with the other mummy behind the scenes while keeping sienna away from the limelight...***no pun intended...LOLs***

Here's pics of us "behind the scenes"!!!
Our gleeful "proud parents" moment...nonstop smiles since the moment we stepped in to Mediacorp till we left...but looking at those pics, I think Sienna had the most fun!!!
Although it was raining heavily that morning, it didn't dampen our spirits...

Baby Si 1st ever professional haircut in the salon!

After 2.5 yrs of this mummy cutting baby Si's fringe, it was time for her to go have her hair cut in a professional salon by a PRO!!! Hehehehehe....
Few reasons for her haircut:
1) It was time as her "virgin" back hair was getting longer...
2) this humid hot weather isn't helping!
3) this Mummy has no time to do pigtails and keep it neat...(2 babies are a handful) + keeping the house in order n preparing meals...etc....
4) baby Si was off to po po and gong gong hse for a visit (before our Japan trip)...so it will be easier for my mum to tame her mane :p
On a side note: baby Si lasted a whole month without her mummy!!! Told my parents, that I would jump on the next plane back to KL if needed...even had my bags ready n packed just in case...but needless to say baby Si was having way too much fun being pampered by the grandparents....so proud of her :)

All these while, people might say I've deprived baby Si of haircuts...LOL
But in actuality, this mummy has trust issues when it comes to anyone putting a scissors close to baby Si's eyes...Finally this mummy had the courage to let go and put her trust in someone's else...

So off we (the whole family) went to the salon!!! Daddy had to be the one to actually take her in as this mummy couldn't bear to witness it...so mummy quickly gave her a kiss and assured her...then quickly made a dash to pick up groceries with baby Skye!!! But after a few minutes, I decided I needed to be there for baby Si.... So I did a U-turn and headed back just in time to witness the first snip!!! Thank God I made it in time....baby Si held on to daddy like a koala bear... She didn't cry but just needed daddy to be there... The whole ordeal was done within minutes :)

So what do u think of the results?
Baby Si in short hair....yayyyy or nayyyy???
No more "Boo" signature trademark look!!!

Baby Si would tell me every now and then that she wants her hair to grow longer so she can be like a princess and also keep saying, "sienna like a boo, sienna like a boo!!!"... Just today I trimmed her fringe, and she said "mummy, just cut the front ahhhh! Don't cut the back okayyy? I want it to grow longer!!!"

Mr. Hubby mentioned that the hair that was cut is the same hair that was in my womb!!! Wowwwww....
I should have save it and keep it as a keepsake...hehehehehe....
Sienna had that hair not for 2.5 yrs but for the past 2.5 yrs+9 mths!!!! LOLs.... So EMO this post....hahahhahahaha ***but its just a haircut mummy!!!****
Well, I think I got over it...so the next salons visit will be a breeze :) but daddy will still do it just like how mummy has been taking the kids for their vaccinations...hehehehe....

***SAY BYE BYE to BOO!!!***

Mummy in a new short hairdo too!!! Wanted to have the same haircut as baby Si...
But the fringe didn't turn out nice on me :( so side sweep it went!
(Note to self: this is the last attempt for fringe!!! Say NO to fringe...
Even as a kid I didn't have it...so lets keep it that way!!!)

Who says brinjal can't be a "toy" at po po and gong gong house!!!

Learning mandarin with po po n gong gong!!! YEAY!!!

Here's our monthly family tradition of taking Polaroid pics.
Hopefully baby Si n baby skye pics will cheer up ur day!!!
(Oh this time baby Si is not here in Singapore...so it's just baby Skye solo polaroid pic)
It did cheer us up when snapping these pics... :)

Milestones reached:
Baby Skye 1st time appearing in a magazine!!! (Mother & Baby Singapore) will blog abt this soon!
Baby Skye holding a book
Baby Skye starting to crawl - backwards...(just like baby Si when she started crawling-backwards first)

U can tell that baby Si was way ahead in the milestones compared to baby Skye...

Sitting by herself unsupported at 8mths
Waving
Etc...
Oh well...what can I say...boys are slower? Hehehehehe ... But I can for sure tell that this boy is
way more active, strong n throwing "caution out of the window"...
Doing stunts and somersaults, baby style :)

Europe trip...

So it's mr. Hubby's 3rd time to the DAM...AmsterDAM....
Previous Europe trip blog...click here!

***this mummy jealous much???***
Nahhhh....mummy got to spend bonding time dating my son....
think we walked the whole of Singapore and shop shop shop so much for myself...
that I needed to clear out space in order to make space...
(Note to myself...even told mr. Hubby to remind me...NOT TO SHOP anymore in our
upcoming JAPAN trip!)

Ok back to mr. Hubby's trip...
This time he snuck in another side of Europe...the village life...
where he got to wine and dine like a fine French men among the lush greens and horses!!!
The weather was lovely...
The people friendly... (Although none of the French people spoke English except his British
boss and wife)
And guess what did mr. Hubby do as well just like his previous trips???
Made friends with a bunch of 4 legged friends... ***oh mr. Hubby THE ANIMAL LOVER!!! NOT....***
Even went on romantic walks with them...Just like previous trips...haihhhhhh....
And he tried all sorts of French food...all forms of the duck!!! Foie gras, confit, etc...
Mr. Hubby seems to amazed and surprised me more and more!!!

And he actually liked the foie gras...
Mr. Hubby was kind enough to "tapao" me some foie gras :)
And guess what...I will try everything ONCE....
tried it, and just like "Andrew Zimmer on bizarre foods" would say, "the taste is GAMEY!!!"
Also if u do not know what foie gras is, it's FATTEN duck LIVER!!! The cruelty of being
forced fed till ur very last day...
I will NOT be eating it again...I've seen documentaries and know of it before...
But as I mentioned, I will try everything ONCE!
I have stopped eating sharks fin soup for the longest time...ever since i educated myself...
thus, I banned it to be served on my wedding day and will politely decline when served
at other people's wedding...

So here's the pic of the food haul this trip...
This time not much baby snacks and food pouches as baby Skye will still be on purée
food when we go to Japan!
Mr. Hubby told me that he can mentally know where each item is in the supermarket coz
this is his 3rd time there... So he did his "supermarket sweep" in 30 mins....But ironically
enough, he doesn't really know where items are in our apartment???... O.o .***strange indeed***

Bye bye baby Si!!!

It's been 5 days now that baby Si has been away from her mummy!!!
She is in the safe hands of her "po po" and "gong gong" in Malaysia...
From the looks of it, she doesn't seem to be missing me much and enjoying all the yummy food, pampering and attention showered to her by her grandparents and "chiu chiu" Jeffrey!

This is her first time being away from me... (except for 1 overnight where gong gong took her to her cousin Zach ha-min's place to sleepover - on the other side of Singapore)

Before her trip, Mr. Hubby and I kept prepping her by telling her to "ting hua" and "pu Yao hwai tan"...<- be a good girl and listen to grandparents!
Mummy, daddy and "di di" skyler gonna miss u...

Baby Si kept asking, "today go po po gong gong de jia?" <- am I going to po po and gong gong hse today?
We kept saying, "no, 3 more days...2 more days....1 more day"
Then one day she woke up saying, "I'm ready to go po po gong gong de jia" <- I'm ready to go to the grandparents house...

Then the last night, before sleeping she said,
"Mummy, wo ai ni! Wo Yao Mai Durian for mummy, daddy and di di!!!" <- I love u mummy, I want to buy ur favourite durian for mummy, daddy and baby Skye!

Baby Si seems to know what was gonna be happening!!!
She was all excited to go sit in the aeroplane... This mummy was the one having a hard time saying her good byes to baby Si and mr. Hubby at the airport!!!

Many of you must be wondering how and why she's in Malaysia???
Well..
Firstly coz mr. Hubby went to Amsterdam for 2 weeks business trip (flying via Kuala Lumpur)
Secondly, this mummy came up with a brilliant idea to have mr. Hubby drop Sienna off at KL during his transit.
Thirdly, we will all be going to Japan soon from KL...

Conclusion:
1) Mr. Hubby gets to go on business trip aka vacation
(super jelly!!! AKA jealous that he's getting to eat all yummy food, sightseeing, fly, etc...)
Of course working hard too :)
2) Po po and gong gong n Jeffrey gets to enjoy the chatterbox miss Sienna
3) this mummy and baby Skye gets to go on lots of dates!!!
Everybody WIN WIN situation!!!

By the way, we didn't know how Sienna was gonna cope being away from me for THAT long... (1 month?) so I told my mum to send me a SOS and me n Baby Skye will jump on the next flight to Malaysia :) but so far so good!!! ***fingers crossed***

pic below:

Daddy mentioned that Sienna was striking up conversations with the pax sitting around!!! While enjoying her drink :) she was a trooper even though the flight was delayed due to technical issues, needed to change planes...luggages didn't make it!!! (Oh Malaysian airlines making head news again!!!)
Plus, Mr. Hubby almost missed his connecting flight to Amsterdam with a minute to spare before "push back"! And poor mr. hubby's luggages are still no where in sight!!! Imagine reporting to headquarters and customer's site in the same clothes..."oh dear"!!! <- no pun intended...LOL!

Baby Si busy chatting with the friendly German neighbor while sipping her drink :)

Excited much??? With her trusty snack handbag!!! LOL...

Mummy went shopping for lil miss Sienna even though she wasn't here...
***Still thinking and missing her!***
Btw, her FIRST panties bought (above), mind you...costs MORE than her mummy's!!!
$30sgd for the panties...1 for $6??? Gesssshhhh....
Thank you "Pumpkin Patch"!!!

This mummy has been shopping quite a bit for myself since I haven't been shopping at all!!! Imagine going shopping with 2 young kids??? Nahhhh... I rather sleep!!!
So yeah, with 1 baby, baby Skye, it is SUPER EASY!!! As baby Skye likes to go out, eat, sleep, poop in his stroller :) that was how it was with just me n baby Si last time...

Baby Si FIRSTS (+Baby Skye)...

Our FIRST FAMILY MOVIE experience!!!

Baby Si FIRST MOVIE in the cinema + 1st COKE + 1st POPCORN :)

We were kicked out from what we thought was our "FIRST FAMILY MOVIE" American Hustle when baby Si was less than a year old!!! Thanks to us for being naive parents about "film classification"!
We were happily seated and happily waiting eagerly for the movie to start....
And once the preview/adverts started...we were kicked out...
We even argued with them saying baby Si is just a baby...she won't even know what is happening or what its about and perhaps will sleep all throughout the movie anyways???
Well, Singapore being Singapore... Rules are rules....
Or else GV movie license will be suspended...all thanks to a sleeping baby in the cinema classified "R21"
Oh well, tips for new parents: u will be "doomed"... oppsss i meant "delighted" watching kids movie from now on!!!

So anyways, back to our 1st family movie experience...
I won 4 adults tickets (kids below 90cm is free) to watch a kids movie "Earth to Echo"...
So we invited 2 of mr. Hubby's colleagues along....
It was the WORST movie EVER and what more...WORST KIDS movie EVER!!!
I was so dizzy half way thru the movie... Just imagine the movie "Blair witch project" But the kids version minus the horror! The handheld camera was just moving all throughout...

We overhead kids behind us saying, "So Boring, lets go home"
Parents saying, "no wonder giving out free movie"

Baby Si wasn't even paying attention to the movie...was sitting on "jie jie" Neha's lap playing with her phone while having Neha closed her ears with her hands (as it was way too loud for kids)
Thank you "ge ge" Chaitu and "jie jie" Neha for baby Si first coke (soda drink) and first popcorn!!!
You should have seen her eyes lit up when she took her first sip!!!

This mummy was SOOOO thankful for the lifesaver junk food as she was just happily munching throughout!!! We managed to stick thru the WHOLE ENTIRE movie... Some families were seen leaving halfway...

What was baby Skye doing??? ZzzZZZzzzzzz and snoring thru the movie :)

It was so bad that after the movie ended, I suggested that we treat ourselves with some Coffee/desserts!!! More junk food??? YES!!! We ended up in McDonald's having ice cream :)
Sienna was sugar high..."HAPPY" with her movie experience MINUS the MOVIE...

Hopefully sienna won't think movies = junk food (just like the mummy!!!"
