Gong xi gong xi...happy Chinese New Year!!!

Yeah I know...late again for my CNY post... It's march, n I'm still blogging things in feb! Sheeeshhhh....must be all the stuffing-myself-silly with those pineapple tarts...
Oh yeah, btw, if any of u have any leftover pineapple tarts from CNY, I don't mind taking the fats...oooppss, i meant tarts away from u...

This will be baby sienna's first Chinese New Year... And her first year collecting ang paos!!! Can tell that this mummy is way more excited *shrieks*... And many many more angpaos to come till she gets married :) *huat ahhhhh!!!*
'Huat' in english means: To prosper, to have loads of money come into your pockets
ok let's not talk about the M word yet...she's barely 1 yr old...

So what did we do for CNY? We celebrated it in CHINDIAN style... We ate brunch in little India and headed straight to Chinatown for snacks :) 2 in 1 celebration...

This year we broke all Chinese tradition where children goes back to their hometown (parents hse) to celebrate CNY...my parents came to visit us instead...hehhehehe... So untraditional our family :p and off we went to visit the famous visitor attraction in Singapore....The Gardens by the bay!!! Will blog about this soon...hopefully...

But we did make our way back to Malaysia just in time for chap goh mei (last day of CNY)!

Thanks aunty syaz for baby Si first Chinese costume outfit...u are so sweet! Faster get a baby, then aunty Jamie will get a costume for ur baby too :) and can play date together...

Baby Si: "mummy, daddy...the color of this costume makes me stand out and I get more angpaos just by smiling n acting cute in this costume!!!"

Baby Si to uncle aka chiu chiu Jeffrey: "please get married soon so that u can stop collecting angpaos from my mummy n daddy n gong gong n Po Po" <--any taker??? anyone...

And baby Si learnt the gong xi gong xi hand gesture just in time for CNY...that gets more brownie points aka angpaos!!!

Happy birthday Po Po!!!

Wanna do a shout out to my mum aka baby Si's Po Po...
Happy 6? Birthday!!! Can't reveal her exact age...as women are quite sensitive when it comes to numbers :)

But for her age, she has graced well... I can't believe she's 60 + :)
I wished to have her genes...no wrinkles in sight!!!
Thank u for bringing all 3 of us up... I now know the sacrifices a mum makes since having baby Si... I don't know how u did it with 3 rascals like us... Hehehhe....

Baby Si has a hottie Po Po... I would say, looking back at her younger days pics... She was a hottie!!! My dad is a lucky man... I'm sure he agrees with me...

Here's Wishing my mama many many more blessed years to come...
Can't wait for baby Si to grow old with u :)

First movie date!!!

Its been about 8 months since me n mr. Hubby last watched a movie at the theaters. Last movies watched were "Hunger Games" n "This Means War".
Ever since then we could only watch movies at home :(
So I've been warning all the soon-to-be mothers to watch as many movies as possible before popping!!!

So since we have a nanny aka po po who came to visit us, me n mr hubby took the opportunity to go on our first movie date "skyfall" (good idea mr hubby on the movie date)

So heres hoping baby Si will behave and be extra nice to po po... We were so excited about our movie date that we went ahead n booked our tickets online (since it is the first day of screening) for a 6-8.30pm movie without thinking that it's baby Si bed time n she might need mummy's (.)(.) to put her to sleep...
*all the best po po!!!*

*UPDATE:
Movie: was awesome!!! Best BOND movie ever...all the actor n actresses were into their character...Daniel craig, getting older but still as sexy!!! LOL... I think mr. Hubby would agree too ;)
po po & baby Si: having a ball of a time, posing for po po taking pics n videos, face timing wt gong gong.
Mummy: didn't enjoy much of the movie in the beginning until halfway called po po to find them playing n baby Si being contented.
Mummy n daddy: felt like our paktoh-ing days... walking hand-in-hand, cutting thru parking lots to walk to n fro the mrt, so care free (now wt baby Si, we walk hand-in-stroller instead of hand-in-hand and also need to walk the longer way using the proper path)

This the longest I've been away from my baby Si ... 3 1/2 hours! Took a chance since this mummy was too lazy to pump (pump, bottles, sterilizer in hiding)... But got ready Baby Si oatmeal and po po fed her!
On the way back (just 15mins away), saw a few babies n felt teary as i miss my baby Si. Once we got home, sneak into po po room to find them playing albeit baby Si being sooooo tired n sleepy. Baby Si waited till mummy got home, had her (.)(.) n fell asleep right away...

Po po took pics to show how much fun mummy n daddy missed out on!!!
Po po got her apple puff as a reward ;)

So who's coming to visit us next? So me n mr. Hubby can plan for our next movie date... Hehehehehe

Baby Si 3rd and 4th solid food

3rd solid food: Carrots!!!
4th solid food: homemade oatmeal!!! The next day added baby Si 4th solid food of homemade oatmeal.

For the homemade oatmeal, I took my rolled oats that I already have and grinded it into powdery form and store it into an air tight container. Once baby Si is ready for her meal time, just take out some of the powdered oatmeal, add hot water and stir (leave it to soften). Then add her already puree'd carrot! Easy peasy!!! Don't need to boil the oatmeal like I originally thought since it's fine enough!!! Cuts down my prep time... *yeay*

(note: this time I did not use the water that I steam with the carrots to make a smoother puree (as this mummy did her research ahead of time)! Reason is because carrots contain nitrate!!!
"taken from wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com- Do not reserve any left over water to use for thinning out the carrots if baby is under 8 months old as Nitrates may seep into the cooking water"

So what does baby Si think of her gourmet meal???

THE RESULT?
baby Si: yummeh!!!
Mummy: yeayyy ;)

Btw,po po fed her this time!!! (first time)

But baby Si didn't liked just plain ol oatmeal but will take it once mixed with her yummy carrots!!!

So here's hoping to perfect eyesight just like her mummy!!! Cheers carrots... Should I sneak in pureed carrots into daddy's food??? *tee hee hee*

What veg or fruit should I intro next?
Stay tune to find out ;)
